This is a reduced year (39 weeks per year) role. The pro rata'd salary is £25,214 to £26,694.
Leeds City College are seeking a Study Support Coach to join our 14-16 Skills Programme.
The 14–16 Skills Programme is a safe and inclusive environment that is accepting of everyone. It provides opportunities to young people to maximise their potential, raise aspirations, and embrace their individuality. What You Will Do
- Work closely with all staff, in supporting individual learners or groups of learners.
- Give academic and development support and coaching to all learners in the 14-16 Skills Programme.
- Support teaching staff where individual learner behaviour and performance within a group is impacting on the learning of the group as a whole.
- Work hard to develop effective relationships with learners in a variety of ways including role modelling mutual respect and high aspirations.
- Motivate and inspire learners to always try their best and show respect.
- Collaborate with staff to facilitate links with schools, parents and appropriate external agencies.
- Contribute to individual learner target setting and reviews and contribute to ongoing advice and guidance concerning progression routes pre and post-16.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of supporting young people both academically and developmentally, including those aged 14-16. This will include experience in the following areas:
- Experience and knowledge in delivering and supporting young people on a 1-1 basis.
- Understanding of barriers to learning and ways to overcome them, including the ability to implement effective interventions.
- Ability to work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.
