Apprentice - Digital Support Technician (Level 3)

This is a Fixed Term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship (15 months)

Apprenticeship pay rates for this post are dependent on age. Please see below for the applicable rates: 

Level 3 Apprenticeship Rates

Under 18 years  - £12,925 per annum
18-20 years        - £17,170 per annum
21+ years           - £22,359 per annum

As a key member of the digital support team, you will work closely with the Deputy Head of Digital Learning Development to enhance the digital experience across University Centre Leeds. Your role will involve supporting staff and students in maximising the effective use of digital technologies, including productivity software, digital communication tools, and innovative learning platforms. You will play a critical role in the Digital Innovation Hub, providing hands-on support with new technologies and helping to upskill colleagues in digital competencies.

In this position, you will be responsible for providing technical support, managing digital tasks to meet tight deadlines, and ensuring data security through adherence to policies and legislation. Your contributions will directly impact the continuous improvement of digital services within the university centre, helping to drive innovation and enhance the overall educational environment.

What You Will Do

  • Provide Technical Support: Assist staff and students with digital issues through various communication channels, ensuring efficient and timely resolution.
  • Manage Digital Tasks: Prioritise and manage digital support tasks effectively, meeting critical deadlines and maintaining high standards of service.
  • Support the Digital Innovation Hub: Set up equipment and provide hands-on support with innovative technologies, helping to foster a cutting-edge learning environment.
  • Upskill Staff and Students: Act as a digital champion, coaching and training colleagues and students in the effective use of digital tools and technologies.
  • Ensure Data Security: Maintain data security by following relevant policies and legislation, documenting actions for a clear audit trail.
  • Collaborate on Digital Projects: Work closely with stakeholders on digital change projects, managing expectations and escalating issues as needed.
  • Promote Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of digital services, staying updated with technological developments and integrating them into the university’s digital strategy.

Bonus Points:

Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft, Apple, and other digital tools is a plus, but not a requirement. Your willingness to learn and adapt is what truly matters.
