Assessor - Education and Childcare (Part Time)

About the Role

Keighley College are seeking a committed and experienced Assessor to support learners studying the T Level Education and Childcare qualification. 

You will play a key role in assessing learners in real work placements, ensuring they develop the skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours required to achieve their qualification and progress into the early years and education sector.

You will work closely with learners, employers, and teaching staff to monitor progress, carry out workplace assessments, and ensure all assessment evidence meets awarding body requirements.

Please note, this is a part-time (18.5 hours) contract. The pro rata'd salary is £15,569 with progression to £17,518 per annum. 

What You Will Do

  • Carry out workplace assessments and observations in early years and education settings.
  • Assess learners against T Level Education and Childcare occupational standards.
  • Provide high-quality feedback, action plans, and SMART targets to support learner progress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records using online tracking systems/portfolios.
  • Support learners in preparing for structured observations and employer-set projects.
  • Liaise with employers, setting managers, and internal teams to ensure placement quality and compliance.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide pastoral and academic support where required.
  • Contribute to standardisation and quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and professional standards are upheld in all settings.

About You

  • Recent experience working in the Early Years or Education sector.
  • Experience of assessing learners in the workplace or classroom (essential/desirable depending on level).
  • Understanding of T Level Education and Childcare framework requirements.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and manage a caseload of learners.
  • Excellent communication skills with young people and employers.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and high-quality education.
