What You Will Do

  • Build and nurture employer relationships, developing new partnerships and strengthening existing ones to create meaningful opportunities for our students.
  • Contribute to the delivery of our employer engagement plan, taking a destination-led approach to student progression and ensuring employer activity reflects the needs of our learners and the wider economy.
  • Research sectors, industries and emerging opportunities, using student qualification pathways, Labour Market Information (LMI) and local skills priorities to identify and engage with relevant employers.
  • Promote the benefits of working with the college by developing engaging employer case studies that showcase the impact of work placements and other work experience opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and employers to create new opportunities for students and maximise participation in work-based learning.
  • Monitor activity against agreed targets and provide accurate reports and insight to demonstrate impact and inform future activity.

About You

  • A Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a related area.
  • At least two years’ experience of successfully building and maintaining effective business relationships, ideally within a 14+ education or work-based learning environment.
  • A strong understanding of commercial awareness, Labour Market Information (LMI) and local skills priorities, with the ability to use this knowledge to identify opportunities.
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment, with a genuine commitment to delivering a positive experience for employers and students.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft and Google applications, MIS and CRM systems, together with the ability to establish and maintain effective administrative processes.
