The Community Employment Coach will work in communities to build trusting relationships with people who might have additional needs, to deliver a holistic and personalised support service through the resources of the network of organisations within the Skills House partnership.
Work within the college, DWP and local community settings to engage with people who are out of work, to support them to get onto relevant courses within college or into work.

What You Will Do
- Engage and build relationships with people that have been referred to us on their employment/learning journey
- Conduct community outreach and engagement work / activity to engage with people not in employment or learning
- Promote and work with multi-agency teams to ensure the effective delivery of employability, training and specialist support to participants.
- Conduct in-depth initial diagnostic assessments with all participants to identify and determine individual employability, training and specialist support needs and barriers.
- Design, manage and deliver a range of employability/training modules or interventions to maximise participant engagement, retention and progression.
- Accountable for performance and management of your caseload
- You will use sound judgement to help people through some difficult, challenging times in their lives,
- Your tailored coaching/approach can make a huge difference to people's ability to find, stay in, and progress in a job or learning
About You
- Previous experience of working with people who have additional support needs/SEN to support and prepare them for employment/learning
- People-focused and able to deliver exceptional service with empathy and compassion to diverse range of people
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as you may work with individuals where English may not be their first language
- Knowledge of local employment/learning opportunities and the job market
- Able to work within a team and to be able to use your own initiative to contact and develop positive working relationships within the community
- It would be desirable if you are able to communicate in another foreign language
