Course Leader - Health & Social Care

About the Role

Are you passionate about Health & Social Care education? Do you have the drive to lead a dynamic team and support learners in achieving their goals? Keighley College is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Course Leader for Health & Social Care to lead curriculum delivery and quality across our provision.

As Course Leader, you will oversee the planning, delivery, and quality assurance of Health & Social Care programmes from Level 1 to Level 3. You will lead a team of experienced educators, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment, while developing strong links with employers and external agencies.

What You Will Do

  • Lead curriculum planning and ensure schemes of work and resources are current and effective

  • Monitor student progress and lead on interventions to ensure high achievement

  • Support teaching staff within the department

  • Drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning standards

  • Work collaboratively with the Quality and Curriculum teams to meet internal and external benchmarks

  • Support the development of enrichment and work experience opportunities

  • Ensure compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirement

About You

  • A relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)

  • Experience teaching Health & Social Care in Further Education or a similar setting

  • Proven leadership or course coordination experience

  • A student-centred approach with a strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment strategies

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and team-working skills

  • Up-to-date industry knowledge and a commitment to inclusive education
