About the Role
Leeds City College is looking for a Course Leader in Engineering to join our team.
We seek an enthusiastic, suitably qualified Course Leader for the Level 3 Engineering course who will play a crucial role in realising the department's strategic objectives. You will be an inspiring Teacher with a Computer Numerically Controlled or Manual Machining background. You will also be able to deliver varied, high-quality, and imaginative sessions and have a record of good achievement rates.

Your role will require a deep understanding and sensitivity to a variety of learner needs. You will be expected to support the delivery team with a range of innovative teaching approaches, all with the aim of empowering learners to reach their full potential.
The working hours are flexible and can be discussed and negotiated at the interview.
What You Will Do
- To deliver lively and interactive teaching, learning and assessment to an outstanding standard on a range of programmes as appropriate.
- To secure outstanding success for all learners and ensure targets for recruitment, retention, achievement and success, attendance and progression are met.
- To support the design and development of programmes in Engineering, which includes the new technical qualifications (T Levels).
- To teach on a range of full-time, part-time programmes at Level 2 and 3 including the T Level.
- Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, and developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
About You
- To have a relevant Level 3 in CNC or Manual Machining and equivalent higher technical expertise in this field.
- To have or be willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent).
- To have industry experience, with current knowledge and the ability to deliver to industry standard.
- Be well-organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
