Course Leader - Mathematics

About the Role

Keighley College is recruiting for a Course Leader in Maths to deliver within our Study Programmes. 

This role is based at our Keighley Campus next-door to the train station! 

The team delivers GCSE & Functional Skills Maths to 16-18 learners who are enrolled on a study programme within the diverse subjects. We are looking for someone to b part of our journey to outstanding. 

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is ready for the next stages in their career, or for an existing course leader to provide leadership and drive with students progress against starting points. The role will include being accountable for a cluster of students and their achievement Work with the rest of the course leadership team, as well as department management teams, is an essential component to the role.

What You Will Do

  • This role involves working closely with Department Managers in Keighley to design and deliver an innovative and engaging Maths curriculum to 16-18 learners of varying abilities.
  • You will be a role model to other Maths teachers and provide support where needed, lead standardisation meetings and share good practice throughout the team.
  • You will also work closely with the Study Support Coaches to identify learners who need extra support and small group support.
  • Check and monitor positions through a range of reporting lines 

About You

  • The ideal candidate will have a recognised teaching qualification and experience of delivering Maths GCSE and Functional Skills in a FE setting.
  • You will have experience of designing a course and course materials which are innovative & engaging, setting targets for students and have strategies and the skills to help students achieve their potential.
  • You will be confident to work with the team to drive and steer change
