About the Role
Leeds City College are seeking a Course Leader in PDBA to join our team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. This role is due to start in July 2025 and is fixed term until 31 March 2026.
In this role you will have the opportunity to deliver fundamental sessions to animal care and horticulture students, whilst also leading on work experience and enrichment.
The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a wide range of study programmes, apprenticeships and Higher Education (HE). From September we will be delivering courses from entry to level 6. Whilst this role will predominantly be working with Further Education (FE) students we will require the successful candidate to demonstrate flexibility and be able to work with a variety of learners.
This role will be predominantly be based at Temple Newsam but on occasion their might be the requirement to also work at other campuses such as Printworks or the University Centre. Whilst this role doesn't include any practical delivery the department is based in a working farm and historical estate, so the successful candidate should like animals and be comfortable in a land-based real work environment.
What You Will Do
- Maintain high quality and effective delivery of fundamental sessions across the delivery team.
- Develop new teaching materials in line with the Printworks PDBA strategy.
- Plan enrichment activities, working closely with the central student life team.
- Ensure the department is compliant with the central team for Learning Support Fund applications.
- Plan an effective induction programme for all students.
About You
- Hold a relevant qualification or degree
- English and Maths at Level 2 or above.
- Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent experience in delivery of PSHE
- Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
