About the Role

University Centre Leeds are seeking a Dean of Higher Education.

At a challenging time for Higher Education in further education and a relatively successful period for the University Centre, a Dean of Higher Education is sought to provide a growth and further alignment of our Higher Education curriculum to regional skills needs. .

The successful candidate will take the work , particularly with regard to student growth, quality, curriculum development, academic standards and the pursuit of Degree Awarding Powers, to the next level in the successful journey of University Centre, Leeds.

The Dean will also play a key role in the review of the existing structure and how this might be better aligned within the group, particularly in relation to Leeds Conservatoire and Higher Education support functions.

What You Will Do

  • Line manage Higher Education Heads of Department  and Higher Education Department Office ( HEDO) support managers
  • Be responsible for leading and managing the University Centre
  • Ensuring business planning for University Centre Quality Assurance in line with Office for Students (OfS) requirements and those of awarding bodies
  • Continuation of degree awarding powers, scholarly activity and research framework co-ordination

About You

  • Experience and a good working knowledge of higher education quality frameworks e.g. OfS, and Teaching Excellence Framework ( TEF)
  • Experience of line managing HE academic managers and lecturers.
  • Experience of managing validation with HE awarding bodies / HEIs
  • Experience of managing HE registry, support and marketing functions.
