About the Role
We are seeking a Facilities Assistant to provide a safe and welcoming service for our students, staff and visitors on campus. You will work with the Facilities Supervisor to carry out basic maintenance of our campus and abide by our Health and Safety Policies.
Initially based at Conservatoire, this role is part of a small team responsible for ensuring that teaching and learning activities are able to run effectively. You will move across Mabgate, Quarry Hill, Eastgate, Annex and Mabgate.
The role is 37 hours per week, spread equally over 5 days working shifts. The campus currently operates Monday to Friday. Your role is over 52 weeks. Weekend work may be required when we have any external or internal college events.

What You Will Do
- Litter Picking, cleaning external areas.
- Refilling photocopiers and distributing internal and external mail.
- Setting up of rooms, which include moving furniture for teaching and exam requests.
- Assisting the Facilities Supervisor with weekly compliance checks.
- Unlocking and Locking up of the premises including setting of the Intruder Alarm.
- Assist the site team and provide support with the Emergency Evacuation Procedures such as Fire Alarm Activations and any other emergency.
- Support the Facilities Supervisor with on-site contractors and visitors, ensuring an understanding of the College guidelines and procedures.
- Minor repairs.

- Stay focused on the tasks in hand and be able to deal with challenging situations in a calm and measured manner.
- English and Maths GCSE or equivalent is essential, along with a willingness to take part in a First Aid at Work course with the college and undertake all mandatory online training.
