The Leeds Apprenticeship Team is a dedicated group within the college, focused on supporting both employers and apprentices throughout the apprenticeship journey. They provide expert advice, guidance, and training opportunities across various sectors to ensure the development of a highly skilled workforce. Located in the heart of Leeds, the team convenient location at Eastgate Campus makes it easily accessible to students and employers alike, with strong links to local businesses and industries.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the operational function of the apprenticeship directorate, including apprenticeship provision, MIS, finance, funding, audit, compliance, and retention intervention teams.
  • Develop and implement a vision to drive exceptional outcomes, empowering staff to achieve success.
  • Oversee financial forecasting and management of apprenticeship funding and associated costs across the Group.
  • Lead a dynamic team, working closely with Business Development to advise employers on apprenticeship recruitment, enrolment, and financing, ensuring contract targets are met.
  • Develop your team to support employers with apprenticeship needs through effective management of the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS), ensuring compliance and funding requirements are met.
  • Ensure adherence to ESFA funding rules through audits, reporting, and maintaining data integrity, while resolving any rule violations.

About You

  • Hold a Level 3 (or above) qualification in leadership and management, along with Level 2 (or above) in English and Maths, a Level 3 qualification in assessment, education, and training, with a commitment to further development in one or both of the latter disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with employers, delivering effective apprenticeship programmes, and successfully tracking and monitoring apprentices to ensure timely completion, with a strong background in leadership and management within an apprenticeship environment.
  • Experience in managing budgets, forecasting costs, ensuring financial compliance, and overseeing high-quality apprenticeship delivery in line with quality assurance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship funding, including submitting and managing funding reports within a dedicated funding team or role.
  • A motivational leader and coach, fostering a collaborative high-performing environment while effectively influencing, challenging, and supporting colleagues across the organisation.
  • Skilled in analysing statistical data, drawing insights, and making actionable recommendations.
  • Able to summarise complex, detailed, and technical information in a clear and accessible manner.
