About the Role
This is an exciting time to join us as a Group Head of Capital Project. Currently we are undergoing a significant change to enable future growth, we are embarking on a growth programme to create a number of new campuses over the next five years, which will help us meet our students' needs and sustainability.

You will be responsible for the management, development and delivery of the capital projects programme and large revenue projects, from establishing the initial brief, through the construction phase to practical completion, and final account stage. As part of your role you will be expected to Deputise for the Group Director of Capital Projects where required.
Promote the vision of Capital Projects delivery by setting the standard and being the role model for the team, lead each of the projects budget, ensuring maximum benefits are made by group purchasing of services, in accordance with financial regulations.
Improve and maintain internal relationships with other Group Shared Services functions such as MIS, Finance, IT, HR, Property and Maintenance, Capital Projects & Student Recruitment and Marketing

What You Will Do
- Undertake capital and revenue projects as required and deliver on time, on budget and as specified
- Effective management of Capital Project budgets in line with Head of Capital Projects
- Lead, manage and motivate a team of Capital professional to deliver within the deadlines in place
- Ensure there are robust systems and processes embedded within the area of responsibility
- Ensuring timely and accurate reports are produced and submitted as requested
- Establish and prioritise an annual work plan for areas of responsibility and for team;
- Comply with all relevant legislation and guidance
- To provide cross service and directorate support as required to ensure capacity and capability can be maintained;
- Identify and deliver cost improvement opportunities and service efficiencies that may improve the organisations operations;
- To ensure that all risks and issues are identified, addressed and mitigated or notified appropriately
About You
- Educated to degree level with membership to a relevant professional body i.e. RICS
- Extensive experience of construction technology, design & project management in a diverse range of construction projects
- Experience of delivering complex projects within occupied buildings
- previous experience of managing capital projects and the wider team.
- A sound working knowledge and appreciation of Building Bulletins, DfE 24 standards and how they can impact proposals
- Sound IT skills in Microsoft Office Suite and project related software
- Experience of managing complex technical relationships between client, consultant, and contractors
