Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Animal Care and Land Management

About the Role

The School of Animal Care and Land Management is a growing and aspirational department based at Temple Newsam in Leeds, the department has been self assessed as outstanding for the last 3 years. Our team consists of a Head of Department, Deputy Head, Programme managers, Teachers, learning support assistants (LSA), pastoral coach and Technicians. Our team work to support our learners to achieve their full potential and achieve their vocational qualifications. We are looking for a learning support assistant (LSA) to join our team, the successful candidate will support theory and practical sessions on site at Temple Newsam, there may also be some requirement to support animal care/horticulture lessons at our Printworks campus. This role is term time only. 

What You Will Do

  • Support practical and theory lessons 
  • Working under direction of the teacher to provide small group support in class
  • Working under direction of the teacher providing 1:1 support where required
  • Working alongside teaching staff to assess, monitor and review progress of pupils 
  • Completion of SEND plans 

About You

  • We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the necessary enthusiasm and skill to communicate at all levels of the college.
  • We are looking for a candidate who likes working both inside and outside. The role includes supporting practical lessons so the candidate must like animals and being outside.
