Pastoral Coach - Animal Management

About the Role

We are looking for a Pastoral Coach to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver theory and practical sessions on-site at Temple Newsam. There will also be some requirements to teach at our Printworks campus.

The School of Animal Care and Land Management is a growing and aspirational department based at Temple Newsam in Leeds; the department has been self-assessed as good for the past year.

Our team consists of a Head of Department, Deputy Head, Programme managers, Teachers, learning support assistants (LSA),  and Instructor-technicians. Our team works to support our learners in achieving their full potential and vocational qualifications.

What You Will Do

  • Support learners through their planned study programmes.
  • Track and monitor student progress.
  • Support learners with their learning, using face to face, online support technology and education platforms. 
  • Deliver fundamental sessions to groups of learners.
  • Develop and agree individual learning plans, identify and set SMART targets and liaising with curriculum specialists and support staff. 

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in supporting teaching and learning, preferably in a further education setting. 
  • Have experience in using technology to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Have the ability to effectively manage learning and learning spaces, so that behaviour and progress have a positive impact on outcomes. 
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
