Programme Manager - Maths & English Improvement

About the Role

Keighley College are seeking a Programme Manager of Maths and English Improvement who will be responsible for leading the continuous improvement, consistency, and overall performance of Maths and English provision across Study Programmes. The role focuses on raising standards in teaching, learning, assessment, attendance, progress, and learner outcomes.

You will lead quality assurance and standardisation activities to ensure that delivery, assessment practice, learner feedback, and curriculum implementation are consistent, compliant, and effective across all teams. 

The postholder will play a key role in sharing best practice, and ensuring Maths and English provision meets awarding body, funding, and inspection expectations. You will also work collaboratively with vocational and support teams to promote the importance of Maths and English and improve learner success across programmes.

What You Will Do

  1. Lead the improvement of Maths and English performance across all provision areas.
  2. Lead quality assurance processes for Maths and English delivery, assessment, and learner outcomes. 
  3. Plan and manage internal quality reviews, audits, and compliance checks. 
  4. Coordinate standardisation meetings to ensure consistent teaching, assessment, and marking practices. 
  5. Lead the moderate process across GCSE and Functional Skills provision. 
  6. Monitor consistency in learner feedback, progress tracking, and evidence standards. 

About You

  1. You will be an experienced and motivated leader with a strong background in Maths and/or English education, quality assurance, and performance improvement.
  2. You will have a proven track record of raising standards, improving learner outcomes, and supporting staff to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment.
  3. With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will be able to build positive relationships with managers, teachers, and support teams to drive consistency and continuous improvement.
  4. You will have a strong understanding of GCSE and Functional Skills requirements, curriculum planning, assessment practice, and inspection expectations.
  5. You will be highly organised, outcome-focused, and committed to ensuring all learners achieve their full potential in Maths and English.
  6. A proactive and resilient approach, alongside the ability to challenge and support others constructively, will be essential to success in this role.
