SEND Support Worker (Reduced Year)

About the Role

Leeds City College is seeking a SEND Support Worker to join our dynamic team working at the Printworks Campus, which also includes Somerville House and Temple Newsam Home Farm.

The post holder will work closely with all staff in a wide-ranging role designed to help our learners’ progress during practical, theory and pastoral lessons across a wide range of subjects, details of which can be found on our website.

This role will predominantly be based at Printworks but on occasion there might be the requirement to work flexibly across campuses. .

This is a reduced-year role (39 weeks). The pro rata salary is £23,902 with progression to £24,505 per annum.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with our staff to support individual students or groups of students who hold EHCPs or have recognised High Needs.

  • Support individual students or groups of students with targeted support and interventions where required. 

  • Collaborate with members of the team to develop learning strategies for students.

  • Work with other members of the team to ensure successful outcomes for High Needs and SEND students.

About You

  • Flexible, adaptable and responsive to the needs of a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience of working with learners with an EHCP or recognised High Needs in an educational setting .

  • Experience of working within a team who support students with an EHCP or High Needs.

  • Experience of dealing with a range of SEND needs, and understanding of support strategies.

  • Experience of working with schools, parents and external support agencies.
