Student Welfare and Finance Officer

About the Role

37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday from 08:30am  to 16:30pm

The Learner Support Fund helps reduce the challenges learners from disadvantaged communities and those living in associated poverty, including but not limited to refugees and asylum seekers, face whilst at college. 

This role is to support our eligible Adult students with bus passes and meal cards so they come to us and study knowing that it will not add additional cost to their life.

The role will be mainly based at our Enfield Centre off Roundhay Road but may require to travel to our other community centres in Leeds.

The successful candidate will be part of our Business Support Team.

What You Will Do

You will support students with course fees to enrol on Courses, checking and gathering evidence, including those needing support with childcare funding, bus pass applications through our Discretionary Learning Support Fund.

You will support curriculum staff with the admin claiming process for Additional Learning Support.

You will liaise with the central Welfare and Student Fund team to ensure policies and procedures are maintained.

About You

  • Must have Maths and English at Level 2. 
  • A degree or equivalent higher level qualification or a relevant professional qualification and substantial experience.
  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable groups in an educational or similar setting.
  • Up to date knowledge and experience of welfare issues and changes and the impact of these.
