About the Role
You will be dedicated to providing an outstanding learning journey, ensuring every student gains the confidence and tangible skills needed to excel in their personal or professional culinary goals.
You won’t just be teaching techniques; you’ll be building confidence, mentoring students through their individual journeys, and celebrating their progress. Please note, this is a variable hours contract. You will mainly be expected to teach evening classes to adult students.
What You Will Do
- You will bring your industry expertise to life by designing and delivering high-impact masterclasses that go far beyond standard lesson plans.
- Create immersive, hands-on learning that keeps adult students engaged and motivated.
- You’ll be responsible for setting high standards and providing the kind of sharp, constructive feedback that helps learners sharpen their skills and reach professional benchmarks.
- Maintain high quality standards while utilising Harrogate College’s extensive Employer Network to keep your teaching rooted in the local industry.
About You
- A seasoned hospitality professional with a genuine commitment to your craft and have a natural desire to mentor others. While you may not have formal teaching experience, you will have substantial experience in high-standard kitchens or front-of-house operations and are now ready to inspire adult learners.
- An effective communicator who can translate complex industry techniques into clear, actionable steps for those looking to upskill or retrain.
- You understand the value of high standards and creative flair. You thrive on the success of a team and find it rewarding to watch others develop their own unique talents.
- Backed by an inclusive approach and a positive attitude, you are ready to move from the professional floor or kitchen into our bistro to help adults discover their culinary potential.

About Us
Harrogate College has excellent facilities and provides a professional and friendly environment. We have recently been awarded £16m of government funding to transform our campus. The energy-efficient new building will include a workshop unit that provides large scale facilities aligned to industry needs including advanced manufacturing, low carbon construction, retrofit, sustainable energy and bioeconomy, health science and hospitality. This will complement the college’s existing tech centre which is home to its motor vehicle, electrical, joinery and welding workshops.
