About the Role
Leeds City College are seeking a Maths Teacher to join our dynamic team in the Animal Care and Land Management department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to deliver Maths sessions to Animal Care and Horticulture students, as part of their programme of study.
The School of Animal Care and Land Management offers a wide range of study programmes, apprenticeships and Higher Education (HE). This role will predominantly be working with Further Education (FE) students, we will require the successful candidate to demonstrate flexibility and be able to work with a variety of learners.
This role will be be based at Temple Newsam. Whilst this role doesn't include any practical delivery, the department is based in a working farm and historical estate, so the successful candidate should like animals and be comfortable in a land-based real work environment.
What You Will Do
- Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources.
- Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods.
- Create effective assessment activities, provide SMART learning targets, developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve .
- Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes.
- Reflect on teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
About You
Qualified to degree level in a related subject.You will hold, or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification.English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.Recent teaching delivery in relevant subject areas (PGCE teaching placements/experience would also qualify here) which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.Benefits
