About the Role
Leeds City College is seeking dynamic, self-motivated Motor Vehicle Teachers to join our expanding team at the Printworks Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing curriculum area that boasts a strong track record of learner success and achievement.
As an experienced automotive educator or a skilled technician looking to transition into teaching, you will deliver high-quality training across all modes of attendance from Level 1 up to Level 3.
You will teach a diverse range of students across the following programmes:
16–18-year-old Study Programmes
Adult learners (19+) on Study Programmes
Apprenticeships
School / Pathways Groups
Your primary focus will be to provide an excellent learning experience, ensuring that individual learners gain the essential skills required for further study, employment, or the successful completion of their apprenticeship.
Please note, a market supplement of £3,000 is available for this role dependant on experience.
What You Will Do
Prepare and deliver inspirational lessons across a range of Motor Vehicle Service and Repair courses, including modern Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies.
Contribute to high standards of aspirational teaching, learning, and assessment.
Enthuse, motivate, and mentor the young technicians of the future, fostering a true passion for the automotive industry.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of learner progress, attendance, and achievements within the College.
Bring drive, determination, and a desire to make a genuine difference to young people’s lives through education.
About You
- You must hold a relevant Motor Vehicle qualification (or equivalent) OR have a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry/trade experience.
- You should hold a full teaching qualification, or be fully willing to work towards achieving one with the College's support.
- You must be digitally literate and confident using standard IT systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to assist with course administration and learning resources.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively motivate, inspire, and engage diverse groups of learners.
- A strong team player with a flexible approach to working hours, as some evening work will be required alongside associated administrative tasks.
- Previous experience working with young people is highly advantageous.
