Teacher in Digital and IT (Variable Hours)

About the Role

This is a Variable Hours contract. 

We are recruiting a highly motivated and ambitious Teacher in Digital and IT who can teach and support our team within our Digital and IT department, specifically in Cyber Security. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in Digital and IT, particularly in Networks and Cyber. We are keen to speak to anyone who is interested in progressing within their career and who can work with us to grow our provision in line with the needs of the West Yorkshire economic region.

Provision is developed and delivered oat the Printworks campus of Leeds City College where over 1900 students currently studying a range of courses.  The curriculum offered is vocationally focused in both Information Technology and Computer Science, and diverse in nature. 

Our curriculum portfolio comprises of a range of courses for 16 – 19 year olds, ranging from Level 1 to Level 3, T-Level courses in both Digital Support Service and Digital Design and Production.  Vocational courses for adults are also offered as part of the curriculum to support career development and upskilling.   Apprenticeships are also available for people of all ages whether it be a career change or career progression.

What You Will Do

  • We are looking for a committed, passionate educator and digital and IT specialist to work within  our team of highly skilled teachers and support staff.
  • You will be delivering BTEC / T level  courses at level 2 and 3 to full time learners, mainly aged 16-18. You will be responsible for planning, tracking and assessment throughout the year.
  • You will work with the Digtial and IT team to facilitate relevant lesson delivery which will mirror the ever changing nature of the digital and IT world.
  • You will support  our learners with support and guidance throughout their academic journey by helping to create exciting/relevant industry standard resources that can aid in the delivery of the digital and IT courses within our school.

About You

  • Experience in a Further Education setting specialising in Digital and IT delivery at levels 1, 2 and 3, and be able to demonstrate a passion for new and innovative ideas around curriculum development.
  • Your experience will include positively managing students to ensure excellent retention, achievement, success and attendance with our cohort of learners.
  • Able to build positive relationships with students and staff using restorative practice techniques, be flexible and a positive role model across our campus.
  • Your skill-set will also include excellent organisation skills and the ability to provide productive insight into the development of the courses.
