Technician - Automotive

About the Role

We are recruiting for a new Technician in our Sustainable Technologies & Motor Vehicle department. The technician will provide essential support to teaching staff to create a safe and effective learning environment for students within a vehicle workshop.

Based at our Printworks Campus, which  provides a striking backdrop for students to learn and train in realistic, industry-standard environments.

The campus is home to innovative digital labs, world-class kitchens, tailored engineering workshops and cutting-edge studios, as well as providing real working environments in the commercial.

What You Will Do

  • Maintaining a Safe and Efficient Automotive Workshop
  • Responsible for upholding high standards in the automotive workshop and ensuring all equipment is ready for use by staff and students
  • Keeping the workshop and automotive tools clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety legislation, including COSHH regulations
  • Monitoring and ordering automotive stock and consumables, such as oils, filters, and parts
  • Safely storing tools, equipment, and materials, adhering to regulations for waste and hazardous material disposal, particularly automotive-specific waste like batteries and oil.

About You

  • A Level 3 Automotive Maintenance and Repair qualification
  • Level 2 English, Maths, and ICT qualifications
  • Relevant, up-to-date subject knowledge in automotive technology and be familiar with current workplace practices in the automotive industry
  • Prior experience in an educational environment, and basic first aid training would be advantageous
