Trainee Teacher

Salary: £20,499 plus £3,000 TTF incentive payment per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Keighley College

Contract: 2 year Training Contract (if training is successfully completed a permanent role will be offered to the candidate on completion of their training).

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced industry professional to make the move into teaching in further education. You will be instrumental in teaching and sharing your knowledge to students 16+ who are training and studying for their chosen career path.

We are looking for individuals who have current or recent experience of working the following areas:

  • Construction and the built environment (Electrical Installation, Joinery and Brickwork)
  • Engineering and manufacturing
  • Maths

What You Will Do

What to expect

You will be fully supported in your role, learning on the job whilst also being given paid time to study for your Level 5 teaching qualification (fully funded). This is a two-year training contract, however if you successfully complete your teaching qualification, a permanent role will be offered on completion.

About You

Entry Requirements

  • New to teaching and not already hold any teaching qualifications.
  • To have, or be willing to work towards, a Level 2 qualification in English and maths.
  • For technical subjects, a Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a relevant field is desirable.
  • For technical subjects, industry experience is desirable.
