Trainer/Assessor - Apprenticeships

About the Role

Leeds City College are looking for a trainer/assessor to join our our team in the School of Animal Care and Land Management. The successful candidate will deliver on and assess apprentices. We are working with a number of providers both locally and nationally, the successful candidate will deliver off the job training to apprentices as well as assess learners in and out of the work place. 

The School of Animal Care and Land Management is a growing and aspirational department based at Temple Newsam in Leeds, the department has been self assessed as outstanding for the last 4 years. Our team consists of a Head of Department, Deputy Head Programme managers, Teachers, learning support assistants (LSA), and Technicians. Our team work to support our learners to achieve their full potential and achieve their vocational qualifications.

What You Will Do

  • To plan, co-ordinate, assess and review the learning activities associated with learners in the workplace.
  • Deliver off the job training, some of which will be delivered remotely. 
  • Assess learners in and out of the work place
  • Work with employers to achieve high success rates for apprentices
  • Complete records associated with assessments, delivery materials and off the job training

About You

  • Level 5 qualification or equivalent in the vocational area
  • Minimum level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grade C or above, GCSE grade 4 or above or equivalent)
  • Desirable: To have an assessor qualification and an IQA qualification
  • Experience of teaching, training peers or transferring skills to others.
