A Level Lecturer - Law (Full Time or Part Time)

About the Role

Leeds Sixth Form College are recruiting for an A Level Lecturer - Law to join our high performing, dynamic team. We are accepting applications from candidates looking for full time or part time hours.

Due to the success of our BTEC Law course, we are looking for a candidate who would teach BTEC Law with some A Level teaching and internal verification duties.

As the Law team is already fully complemented, this role will also give opportunity for more small group workshops and progress intervention which have proved successful in increasing positive student outcomes.

We would like the successful candidate to start asap or ready for the next academic year (September 2024).

What You Will Do

  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
  • Be responsible for recording student progress, motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
  • Reflect on what works best in teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise their effectiveness, including through the use of technology.
  • Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of online learning resources for identified modules.
  • Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
  • Develop and employ effective assessment activities for identified modules.
  • Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire the learner to improve and record learners’ progress for identified modules.

About You

  • You will hold an Honours Degree in Law or a relevant subject.
  • Relevant experience in teaching to students up to Level 3.
  • You will also hold or working towards a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience of positively managing student progression, advice and guidance in a school or Further Education setting.
  • Proven commitment to continuous professional development
  • Experience developing creative learning materials for groups of learners
