About the Role
Leeds City College are recruiting for a Course Leader to oversee L4 IQA and L3 assessor qualifications. This role is ideal for someone who is fully qualified to assess and IQA these qualifications and who has a range of vocational assessment experiences. This role is fixed term until July 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Adult, Community & ESOL (ACE) department, which was graded Outstanding by Ofsted in February 2025. In 2024, there were over 5000 students, and a team of 200+ brought education and life-changing experiences to our learners.
What You Will Do
Lead and support staff on the development of schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for an identified course or courses.
Support staff so that their students achieve their targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
Help to ensure all team members maintain and update their knowledge of the subject and / or vocational area.
About You
Teachers should hold a level 5 Teaching Qualification or achieve this within two years of appointment.
You must have a L4 IQA qualification and experience of Internal Quality Assurance on vocational programmes
A proven track record of improving performance e.g. retention, achievement, success, value added.
Extensive experience of embedding successful Internal verification process.
Ability to take responsibility and work on own initiative with minimum supervision and guidance.
