About the Role

The role of HE Lecturer - Law here at University Centre (UC) Leeds is to plan, deliver and assess essential curriculum to our students across Access to HE Law and our LLB (Hons) Degree.

The curriculum offered at UC Leeds is vocationally focused and diverse in nature. The institution holds Degree Awarding Powers.  We currently have over 1300 students studying across the range of courses we offer.

We offer a comprehensive LLB (Hons) Law degree, validated by The Open University, designed to prepare students for various legal and criminal justice careers.

What You Will Do

  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of the subject and / or vocational area.
  • Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise their effectiveness, including through the use of technology.
  • Apply theoretical understanding of effective practice in teaching, learning and assessment drawing on research and other evidence.

About You

  • Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE) or a willing to undertake this and complete within 2 years
  • Relevant highest-level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject.
  • Recent teaching delivery in relevant subject areas (PGCE teaching placements/experience would also qualify here) which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
  • Knowledge of current teaching practices and experience of utilising a range of teaching practices to enhance learner journey and progression.
