Course Leader - Motor Vehicle

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team and lead the motor vehicle department. You will have a proactive can-do attitude, be positive about change and innovation, and be able to drive and support consistency and improvement within the department. They will inspire colleagues, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, working across the department to embed different ways of delivering teaching, learning and assessment. 

The successful candidate will be a people person with exceptional communication skills, able to guide others through change. Demonstrating coaching experience and a background in teaching and learning that fosters our culture of working with and supporting colleagues to develop. 

What You Will Do

  • You will be delivering and managing Motor Vehicle courses at level 2 and 3 to full time learners, mainly aged 16-18. You will be responsible for planning, tracking and assessment throughout the year.
  • You will work with the Motor Vehicle team to facilitate relevant lesson delivery which will mirror the ever changing nature of the motor vehicle world.
  • You will be responsible for the creation and upkeep of  course review documents throughout the year.
  • You will lead on all quality aspects of course delivery and reporting.
  • You will support our learners with support and guidance throughout their academic journey by helping to create exciting/relevant industry standard resources that can aid in the delivery of the motor vehicle courses within our school.

About You

  • You will have  experience in a Further Education setting specialising in Motor Vehicle delivery at levels 1 and 2, and be able to demonstrate a passion for new and innovative ideas around curriculum development.
  • You will have current motor vehicle teaching experience , or  be looking for your next step into course leadership.   
  • Your experience will include positively managing students to ensure excellent retention, achievement, success and attendance with our cohort of learners.
  • You will build positive relationships with students and staff using restorative practice techniques, be flexible and a positive role model across our campus.
  • Your skill-set will also include excellent organisation skills and the ability to provide productive insight into the development of the courses.
