Exams Coordinator

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Exams Coordinator; you will be a key member of the exams team and be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the campus and any community site provision exams programme.

The role involves liaising with different teams, such as IT, Estates and Curriculum, to ensure the correct processes and procedures are followed so that the college meets JCQ and awarding body regulations and that students achieve their qualifications and the college maximises the funding received. The role is very fast-paced, and being able to think on your feet and learn new information quickly and accurately is really important.

What You Will Do

  • You will lead a team to ensure that all exams and external assessments run smoothly and meet awarding body deadlines and regulations.
  • Take a lead on dealing with queries, complaints and awarding body issues and requests to ensure that all students receive their results and certificates so they are able to embark on the next stage of their education or employment. 
  • To manage an efficient and compliant exams service including systems and processes that ensures effective registering, timetabling and secure running of examinations; secure despatch of examination papers, student’s certificates and requests for remarks and script.

About You

  • You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and prioritise and delegate tasks.
  • An excellent eye for detail is key to ensure that all procedures and processes are adhered to and that students are registered for the correct exams and qualifications.
  • You will need to be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines whilst managing and motivating your team. 
  • Be an excellent communicator and take responsibility for dealing with problems. Good IT skills are essential to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and accurately and that data can be used to track exam processes.
