About the Role
Part-Time - 14 hours per week
Fixed Term till 30 June 2024
This is an exciting opportunity to join the HE Student Support Team as a Graduate Intern working on a funded project developing Graduate Outcomes campaigns. University Centre Leeds provides students with the opportunity to study for a broad range of qualifications including foundation degrees, BSc (Hons) / BA (Hons) top-up degree programmes, Higher National Apprenticeships and Degree Apprenticeships. The Student Support Team work with students across the lifecycle providing counselling and mental health support, learning support, welfare support and progressions support. This role will work with the team to support students in understanding graduate destinations and the importance of the Graduate Outcomes Survey.
University Centre Leeds want to understand the graduate perspective and what success looks like for graduates following their time in higher education. Graduate Outcomes data is used for a range of information and regulatory purposes and the data is used in several ways, such as use by higher education providers and higher education funding and regulatory bodies, inclusion in official statistics, and research and journalistic uses, including university league tables. The results are used by these groups primarily for research and statistical purposes, but also in the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority.
The project aims to increase awareness of the survey, what the questions mean for our students, and to increase response rates. HESA advise that best practice suggests that there is value in promoting the survey during the student's final weeks of teaching as we have direct, face-to-face access to them.
