Pastoral Manager - ESOL16-23 (Fixed Term)

About the Role

Please note that the college will close from 20 December until 6 January for the Christmas break. Shortlisting and interviews will take place in January 2025.

Leeds City College are recruiting for a Pastoral Manager for 16-23 age groups to join our Adult, Community & ESOL (ACE) team based at North Street. This role is fixed term for 13 months initially from March 2025 to April 2026. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Adult, Community & ESOL (ACE) department who were graded Outstanding by Ofsted in May 2022. We currently have over 400 students enrolled.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate, manage and administer Pastoral Support Programmes and Pastoral Support Plans, liaising with families and external agencies to help students who are at risk of exclusion.
    • Liaise with Virtual School and social workers to update on individual learner progress.
    • Liaise with parents to update on key issues and lead on implementing Parents’ Evening.  
  • Lead on implementation of EEP (Employability, Enrichment, Pastoral) hours within the Study Programme and manage internal systems to communicate this to the team.

About You

  • Knowledge of Government policy in relation to education and training, including its funding, safeguarding and curriculum / qualification reform.
  • Proven experience managing staff, including planning, monitoring and reviewing.
  • Experience of working positively with young people and adults
  • Takes effective action to affect the behaviour and decisions of other people
