About the Role
Leeds City College is seeking a Programme Manager of English and Maths to join our Adult, Community, and ESOL (ACE) Department.
You will support the Deputy Head and line manage staff in English & Maths, including Functional Skills and GCSE qualifications, ensuring that students are engaged, supported, and able to achieve positive outcomes. The role includes up to 10 hours of teaching per week, along with one evening session per week delivering either English or Maths, depending on your specialism.
The Adult, Community & ESOL (ACE) department were graded Outstanding by Ofsted in February 2025. In 2024/5 there were over 5,000 students with a team of 200+ bringing education and life-changing experiences to our learners. We have been validated internally as Grade 1 for six years in a row.
The team is based predominantly at the Enfield Centre, LS7 1RG, and includes provision at Deacon, College House and online.
What You Will Do
- Plan, develop and deliver a curriculum which effectively meets the needs of learners and employers.
- Deliver outstanding outcomes in terms of retention, achievement, success and progression
- Exceed targets for income diversity and volume, as well as for financial contribution
- Provide leadership in the enhancement of learning and teaching
- Provide day to day line management for staff and leadership to staff working within the Department/School across all centres.
About You
- Level 5 teaching qualification.
- Relevant experience, knowledge and understanding of working positively with adults in the FE sector.
- Experience of supervising/managing staff to ensure high performance.
- Substantial experience of undertaking internal verification and moderation activities for English & Maths.
