Programme Manager - HE Health

About the Role

The Health Department at University Centre Leeds are looking for a dynamic individual to lead and manage our portfolio of Health programmes at undergraduate level, which includes Health and Wellbeing, Health Play Specialists, Healthcare Assistant Practitioner and a Health Management Top Up Award. We are also seeking to expand into post graduate awards.

The Department is nationally recognised for our accredited Higher Technical qualification Foundation Degree in Health play Specialism, that supports employer partnership and apprenticeships. The Department also has strong public sector links, creating the Health and Wellbeing professionals of the future. 

We are looking for a highly motivated, committed Health Programme Manager who has recent experience in delivering and managing successful Health programmes in an educational or training setting. 

We would be particularly interested in anyone who comes from a Health Play Specialist or Allied Health Professions background, but this is not essential. 

What You Will Do

As a Higher Education Health Programme Manager. 

Key duties within the role include:   

  • Line management of staff, setting targets and managing performance 

  • Provide effective leadership, support and guidance for course leaders, lecturers and assessors. 

  • Collaborate with the DHoD to liaise with external stakeholders, to raise awareness and interest in the UCLeeds offer.  

  • Work with partners to establish and deliver our UCLeeds offer. 

  • Be the department lead for health apprenticeship provision and manage the processes of compliance around these 

  • To be a proactive leader in validation events. 

  • To advocate for the HE Health Department and UCLeeds internally and externally. 

  • To foster and actively promote a positive culture of wellbeing in the Health Department. 

  • Maintain commitment to research and scholarly activity in line with the expectations of the University Centre. 

  • Be adaptable and responsive to challenges with positive solutions. 

  • Collaborate with other Programme Managers across the University Centre to utilise resources to ensure a high-quality offer. 

About You

  • Experience of managing a fast-paced curriculum in an educational setting. 

  • A qualified teacher with a postgraduate qualification in a related field  

  • Be able to manage an expanding and responsive Health Curriculum in a range of settings that engage learners (both online and face to face). 

  • Have a passion and ability to inspire a growing course team, to set developmental targets and manage their performance 

  • Have an excellent understanding of the Health sector and to implement curriculum changes in line with current developments 

  • Experience of working with stakeholders and being influential in establishing effective partnerships.
