About the Role
Leeds City College is recruiting an Engineering Teacher - Fabrication & Welding to join our team. As an Engineering Teacher at Printworks Campus, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of engineers. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering high quality lessons within a workshop environment. You will be required to design and implement innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience and ensure that students are well-prepared for a career in the engineering sector.
Overall, this role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for engineering education, a commitment to student success, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, industry partners, and the broader community.
What You Will Do
Plan and deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment in fabrication and welding within a workshop environment
Develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans and practical learning resources
Assess learner work, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate progress records
Set and monitor SMART targets to support learner achievement and progression
Motivate and support FE learners to develop practical skills, knowledge and employability
Carry out internal verification/moderation and contribute to quality improvement
Participate in course promotion, recruitment activities and examination processes
Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and professional standards
About You
Experienced in assessing learner work, providing timely and constructive feedback, and tracking progress against SMART targets.
Knowledgeable in quality assurance processes, including internal verification and moderation.
An enthusiastic and reflective practitioner with the ability to plan, deliver and assess engaging, inclusive learning.
Strong understanding of evidence-based teaching, learning and assessment, with the ability to adapt delivery to meet diverse learner needs.
Confident in using a range of teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning.
Organised, professional and able to meet assessment, marking and reporting deadlines.
A strong team player with a commitment to continuous professional development.
Flexible and willing to support recruitment, examinations and occasional evening or weekend work.
